Short Review

A Predictable Gangster movie with Good performances!!! Director Mani Ratnam fails to connect emotionally where the Screenplay is utterly predictable in the second half.

Rangaraya Sakthivel(Kamal Haasan), a Real estate Mafia Don is betrayed by his people who are around him, especially his Brother Manikkam(Naaser) and his Foster son Amar(Silambarasan). He comes back alive and takes revenge on them. There is a misunderstanding between Rangaraya Sakthivel and Amar. What is it? why did Amar make an attempt to kill Rangaraya Sakthivel? Why Does Deepak(Ali Fazal) wants to take Revenge on Sakthivel and Amar? Did Amar found his lost sister Chandra? That's Thug Life.

7. Rather than showing characters as Black or White or as Good or Bad, Mani Ratnam has presented characters with their own flaws. Rangaraya Sakthivel and Amar are examples for it.

8. Thug Life addresses about the power struggles in Gangster world.

9. Kamal Hassan's and Naaser's characters were designed with humour. Kamal Haasan has Lived his character as Rangaraya Sakthivel.

Minus:

1. Second half is Predictable...Doesn't connect much emotionally... Bit slow...

2. Ashok Selvan wasn't properly utilized in the film..His character wasn't convincing or impactful.

3. Mutha Mazhai song didn't come in the movie.

4. Amar coerces Indrani to live with him. Amar knows that Sakthivel loves and has an affair with Indrani. Despite that Amar loves Indrani. Is he not betraying Sakthivel?

A Question arises...

5. Although plots and situations are different, Thug Life was like Blending Jilla and Vivegam together

6. A Prostitute...A Bar dancer...Keep of Sakthivel...Keep of Amar... There was a sense of mixed feeling about Trisha in the movie... After watching the movie you feel like why Trisha in this movie?

7. Vinveli Nayaga song comes only in the end credits.

Overall, A Predictable Gangster movie with Good performances!!!

The Original Track of Mutha Mazhai was sung by Dhee. Chinmayi sang the same Track in the Audio Launch Beautifully. It was Soulful!!! Both the Versions are Unique and Beautiful!!!

O Maara

A Paal Dabba RAP and vocal.

O Maara may come as an Intro song for Simbu in Thug Life.

Vinveli Nayaga

It was a Live Performance.

Vinveli Nayaga is one of the Best songs of Shruthi Haasan in her voice. Outstanding.
