A Tale of Friendship, Love and Revenge on the backdrop of coalmine and alcoholism!!! 

Friendship-> Dharani's (Nani) friendship and bonding with Suri (Dheekshith Shetty). Dharani and Suri are classmates, glassmates and thick friends.

Love-> Dharani loves his childhood friend vennela (Keerthy Suresh) from his childhood. But drops and sacrifices his love as he comes to know that his friend Suri loves Vennela. The point is Dharani drops the idea of loving vennela as he thinks that Suri may suffer if he comes to know that he loves her. At the same time his sacrifice kills him inwardly everytime he sees Vennela. Dharani gives importance to Friendship than Love. 

Revenge-> Suri is mysteriously killed.  When Dharani investigates it he comes to know that Chinna Nambi (Shine Tom Chacko) killed Suri as he had lust for Vennela. Dharani kills Chinna Nambi to avenge the death of Suri.

The story happens in the backdrop of Veerlapalle village in 1980's. The speciality of Veerlapalle village is not just one or two, the entire village is addicted to alcoholism because of a bar called "Silk Bar". When Chief Minister NT Rama Rao announces ban on alcohol, the silk bar is closed. The village becomes free from alcohol for sometime. Later Sarpanch elections are announced. Shivanna (Samuthirakani) and Rajanna 
(Sai Kumar) are brothers who become rivals politically when they contest for elections. Shivanna announces that bar would be reopened if people vote for him and he wins the elections and stays in the Sarpanch post for many years. Village gets drowned in alcohol and alcochol becomes integrally part of village's routine. Chinna Nambi is son of Shivanna. At a point Suri and Dharani have a clash with Chinna Nambi. At somepoint of time, Suri and Dharani help Rajanna win the election after many years. Suri Loves Vennela and their wedding is fixed. On the wedding day Suri is mysteriously killed by unknown men. Dharani investigates and finds a sickle that has the name of Chinna nambi. He goes to Chinna nambi's home and his wife reveals that Chinna Nambi killed Suri not because he made Rajanna win but because he had lust for Vennela. Dharani has to save Vennela from Chinna Nambi who is a powerful head in the village. Did Dharani avenge for the death of his friend Suri? That's Dasara. 

In one line, a guy takes revenge against a man who has killed his friend. But the way things are portrayed makes Dasara a good and watchable ride. First half of Dasara is Very Good. Director connects us with the characters. The emotional bond between Dharani, Suri and Vennela has been portrayed well. The entire backdrop has been portrayed well. Connects audience with the Coalmine backdrop and the alcholism of the village. 

Towards the end Director creates awareness on how alcholism affects families. The village has more women than men in the voter list because many men died because of alcoholism. First half and the movie as such revolves around the politics of an alcohol shop. 

Dasara is worth watching for Nani, Keerthy Suresh and Dheekshith Shetty!!! 

Nani's performance is impressive!!! Nani has Transformed himself as Dharani and has given an impressive performance.

Impressive making!!! Impressive cinematography by Sathyan Sooryan!!!

Be it Background score or songs, Santhosh Narayanan's work for Dasara is impressive!!! 

The pre Interval murder sequence has been shot well. Although the climax fight sequence looks exaggerated it quenches the revenge thirst of Dharani and audience as such. 

Director has given importance to making...But hasn't focused on the screenplay...Second half falters...Predictable....Slow moving screenplay is a minus....

Overall, a Good film that's worth watchable for Nani and making!!!
