Vettaiyan short Review

Vettaiyan addresses that Public outcry shouldn't influence police officers for encounters. Case should be thoroughly investigated. Justice shouldn't be hurried or delayed.

Vettaiyan addresses about the scams of NEET coaching centres.

Saranya(Dhushara Vijayan), a Teacher from a Government school in Kanyakumari writes a letter to Athiyan IPS (Rajinikanth) about a drug network that supplies Ganja to school students. Athiyan IPS is a Police officer in Kanyakumari who is known for encounters. He encounters the criminal who runs the drug network. Saranya comes to Chennai to work in a Government school. After few days Saranya is raped and murdered in the school premises. Police Department comes to a conclusion that a guy called Guna is the criminal who has raped and murdered Saranya. Since there is a Public outcry to the case, Athiyan IPS encounters Guna assuming him to be the murderer. In an interaction with Sathyadev(Amitabh Bachchan), Athiyan gets a New Angle to the case that Guna is not the murderer. Guna was Framed. Athiyan IPS reinvestigates the case to figure out the real murderer and the Mastermind behind the murder. Did Athiyan IPS figure out the criminal? Did he get Justice for Saranya's Death and Guna's death? That's Vettaiyan.

Director T.J. Gnanavel has tried to blend content and commercialism. It works out upto some extent. However, things could have been better. Content is Good. Mass elements could have been better.

Director T.J. Gnanavel doesn't deliver an Agmark Rajni movie. Mass elements doesn't work out that much except for few scenes. Director T.J. Gnanavel doesn't deliver the Socio Political elements impactfully. Not emotionally impactful. In many places Vettaiyan was like watching a drama.

Manju Warrier is wasted except for Manasilayo song.

Rajni bashes men who are stronger than him. It wasn't convincing. Stunts were not effective.

Screenplay was predictable in the second half.

Anirudh Background score is impressive.

Energetic performance from Rajni.

Someone who believes in Justice. As Sathyadev,Amitabh Bachchan has performed well.

As Battery Patrick, Fahadh Faasil is Cute, Intelligent and Charismatic.

Rajinikanth, Amitabh Bachchan, Fahadh Faasil, Dushara Vijayan, Kishore, Rithika singh, Abirami and Rana Daggubati are key performers.

Overall, Vettaiyan is Good. Could have been better.
