Star is Engaging, Entertaining and Inspiring despite its flaws!!!

A story of a middle class guy who Aspires to become an Actor is Star. Kalaiyarasan(Kavin) who Aspires to become an Actor goes through an accident that scars his face and shatters his Dream and confidence of becoming an Actor...Did Kalai achieve his dream or not? That's Star. 

Don't Give Up on Your Dreams. Star conveys.

Star conveys a Good message towards the end. Just because someone has a scar face doesn't mean that they can be rejected or ignored in cinema, especially for Lead Actor roles. Their talent can be utilised using Technological Advancements like VFX.. திறமை இருந்தால் முக தழும்பு உள்ளவர்களை கிராபிக்ஸ் தொழில் நுட்பத்தை பயன்படுத்தி நடிக்க வைக்க முடியும் என்பதை ஸ்டார் பதிவு செய்கிறது. அதற்கு இயக்குனர்கள் முன் வர வேண்டும் என்பதை ஸ்டார் பதிவு செய்கிறது. 

Kavin Rocks the show and has performed well. கதாபாத்திரத்தின் தன்மையை அறிந்து உணர்வுபூர்வமாக நடித்துள்ளார் கவின். நகைச்சுவை /கலகலப்பு.. அவமானம்...கற்று கொள்ளுதல்... தன்னம்பிக்கை கொண்டு நகர்வது... விபத்துக்கு பிறகு நம்பிக்கை இழத்தல்... சோகம்...வலி... கோபம்... இயலாமை/ஆற்றாமை...கனவு கை நழுவி போனது போன்று இருத்தல்..வலியை மறைத்து சந்தோஷமாக இருப்பது போன்று வாழ்வது...முடிவில் வெற்றி பெற்ற சந்தோஷம் என பல உணர்வுகளை தனது நடிப்பின் மூலம் வெளிப்படுத்தியுள்ளார் கவின். மனைவி இறக்க குழந்தை பிறந்தவுடன் நடிக்கும் காட்சியில் உணர்வுபூர்வமாக நடித்துள்ளார் கவின்.

பொருளாதார சூழ்நிலையை கருத்தில் கொண்டு தனது கனவை விட்டு விட்டு  வேறு வேலைக்கு செல்லும் பலரை கலையரசன் கதாபாத்திரம் பிரதிபலித்தது. கனவை அடைய முடியா வலியை உள்ளே சுமந்து கொண்டு வெளியே சந்தோஷமாக இருப்பது போன்று வாழும் நிலையை  குறித்து ஸ்டார் பதிவு செய்கிறது.

விடாமுயற்சியின் முக்கியத்துவத்தை ஸ்டார் பதிவு செய்கிறது.

நிறைய எதிர்மறை சிந்தனைகளை உள்ளடக்கிய படமாக ஸ்டார் இருந்தது.வாய்ப்பு வரும் போதெல்லாம் நாயகனுக்கு ஏதேனும் பிரச்சனை வருகிறது. சினிமாவில் ஜெயிப்பது கஷ்டம். அதனை விட்டு ஒதுங்கி இருப்பது மேல் என்பது போன்ற சிந்தனையயும் ஸ்டார் விதைக்கிறது.   வாய்ப்பு வரும்போதெல்லாம் நாயகனுக்கு ஏதேனும் பிரச்சனை வந்து கொண்டே இருக்கிறது என்பது போன்று வருவது கொஞ்சம் சினிமாத்தனமாக இருந்தது. 

Yuvan Shankar Raja songs and Background score is a key strength of Star. 

There are two surprises in Star...One of the Popular song of Yuvan has been utilised in Star... A Popular Director does a cameo in Star...

Ezhil Arasu K Cinematography is Impressive.

Art work,  Costume designs and Kavin's make over was Impressive. Make over for school life, College life, Life in Bombay, After accident and as a man who goes to work...வெவ்வேறு காலக்கட்டம் மற்றும் சூழ்நிலைகளுக்கு ஏற்றவாறு ஒப்பனை மற்றும் ஆடை வடிவமைப்பு செய்யப்பட்டிருக்கிறது.

Shoddy second half!!!

The Film begins with Childhood Kalai who misses his Bharathiyar Mustache performs as Bharathiyar in his school listening to his Father's words. His Aspiration of becoming an Actor gets seeded there. Director has connected the dots well in the Screenplay.

School and College life of Kalai was lively and Humorous.

Scenes between Kavin and his Family members have been made well. A Father who stands as a pillar of support for his son. Lal has performed well. 

Lal and Geetha Kailasam have performed their roles well.

Chemistry between Kavin and Preity Mukhundhan has worked out well. Preity Mukhundan has performed her part well. 

Scenes between Kavin and Aditi Pohankar didn't work out well. They were Fake and Artificial. சீராக சென்று கொண்டிருக்கும் திரைக்கதையில் செயற்கைத்தனமாக திணிக்கப்பட்ட கதாபாத்திரமாக Aditi Pohankar கதாபாத்திரம் இருந்தது. It wasn't organic and real. 

The guy who comes as Kavin's Friend has performed well. Even small characters have been utilised well in Star. For example, Kadhal Sukumar. However, Actor Maaran who has a good sense of humor has been under utilised in Star. 

Star reminded of Mugavari, Mouna Ragam, Varanam Ayiram, Padaiyappa, Darling & Mayakkam Enna movies...

சில குறைகள் இருந்தாலும் மொத்தத்தில் நல்ல படம்!!!

Overall, Star is Worth watching for Kavin's performance and Yuvan Shankar Raja's Music!!!
