An Engaging Heist movie with Robinhood kind of story from Director Vignesh Raja!!!

Story happens in 1990's. Karasamy known as Kara(Dhanush) is a Thief. He gets caught while making an attempt to steal a House in Thiruverumbur. DSP Bharathan(Suraj Venjaramoodu) wants to become a popular police officer in the Media. He wants to gain publicity. He comes to Thiruverumbur and tries to Fabricate the case by adding additional false charges to Kara so that he can become popular. Kara escapes from Bharathan and goes to Renigunta. He lives with his wife Selli(Mamitha Baiju) . They work in a mess. Kara thinks of starting a Mess. But he doesn't have money for it. He decides to go back to his village in Ramanathapuram to meet his Father Kandhasaami(K.S.Ravikumar).

Kandhasaami has 8 acre land. Kara wants to sell that land so that he can get money for starting his own mess. But unfortunately Kandhasaami and the villagers have mortgaged their land to Panjavan Union Bank. At a point of time, Kandhasaami dies. Bank officers doesn't even allow to do the Funeral formalities in the land. Kandhasaami is taken to a Government Hospital like an orphan. To get back the land of his Father and the villagers, Kara does robbery again..Did he get back the land of his Father and the villagers? Did Kara did the Final rituals for his Father? That's Kara.

Kara addresses about how some banks cheat farmers when it comes to mortgage loans. Kara addresses about how some banks cheat farmers not revealing the hidden charges while taking loans.

Kara addresses about the Grey shades of Bank officers and Police officers. DSP Bharathan(Suraj Venjaramoodu) and Bank officer Muthuselvan(Jayaram) are examples for it.

As Kara, Dhanush has performed well. He has carried the emotions well that's required for the script. Kara has a guilt that his father died because of him. There is a scene where Kara breaks down when he confesses about it to his Mother. Dhanush has performed well in the scene which reflects his acting experience.

Robbery sequences and Action sequences have been made well.

Although a small role, Director K.S. Ravikumar has performed well reflecting his experience. His performance was Impactful.

Someone who is keen on trapping Kara. Suraj Venjaramoodu has performed well as DSP Bharathan.

An inhuman bank officer with Gray shades. Jayaram has performed well.

Although her portions are limited, Mamitha Baiju has performed well as Selli.

Karunas and Prithvi Rajan have done their parts well in supporting roles.

Sreeja Ravi has performed well as Mother.

Background score of G.V. Prakash Kumar is a key strength for the Film.

Theni Eswar Cinematography is Impressive.

Editing was Good.

Minus:

1.In an other angle, Kara glorifies robbery

2. Although one can emphathise with Director's point of view, in an other angle, Kara looks like a propaganda film against banks that offer loans to farmers.

Kara Trailer

Looks like the plot of Kara would revolve around robbery. Looks like audience are going to witness a robber as a Protagonist. Interesting.

Dhanush has penned the lyrics and sung the song well.

Vaaya Ey Karasaami

Sounds like a song that could come in an important sequence in the movie. Arunraja Kamaraj, Anthony Daasan, Satyan and V M Mahalingam have sung the song well. Good composition by G.V. Prakash Kumar.
