PEDDI works at a jaggery factory in Vizianagaram as a coolie along with his village people. He is a Star Cricket player of Vizianagaram. People forget caste, religion or creed when Peddi comes to play. He is celebrated and is a Big Inspiration for the people of Vizianagaram. Ram Bujji(Divyendu) hires or bids Peddi for cricket matches. PEDDI keeps on winning matches for Ram Bujji team. Peddi falls in Love with Achiyamma(Janhvi Kapoor). Achiyamma belongs to the opposition party. Fearing that Achiyamma will make her Father win the election, Ram Bujji sends his men and humiliates Achiyamma by stripping her clothes when she speaks on the stage. Peddi saves Achiyammma by cutting the power. Peddi engages in a Fight with Ram Bujji. This touches the ego of Ram Bujji. He sets a Ploy to lower the value of PEDDI.
Appalasoori(Jagapathi Babu) is an old man from PEDDI's village. He is someone who Fights for the dignity of the village for more than 30 years. Whenever a Train passes the village, he holds a red flag to stop it. But the Train doesn't stop. He approaches Government officials and politicians to create an identity for his village. But his petition isn't looked into. One day Appalasoori dies by standing in the railway track...Train hits him. Before dying he says to PEDDI that dying isn't wrong. But to Live a Life like this without any identity is wrong. Appalasoori's death affects PEDDI and the villagers. Villagers remove the railway track. For that they are beaten by the police. Appalasoori is cremated as if he is an Orphan. Peddi wants to do something to create an identity for his village. He comes across Gourinaidu, a wrestler who says that your Play is your identity to PEDDI. PEDDI leaves cricket and comes to do wrestling under the guidance and mentorship of Gourinaidu. Rest of the movie is about whether PEDDI created an identity for himself and his village.

Ram Charan has given his Heart and Soul for Peddi. One of the Career Best movies of Ram Charan. Ram Charan has dedicated himself for the character. He has Transformed himself for the character.
PEDDI is a story of a man who creates an identity not just for himself but also for his village which doesn't have any identity.
PEDDI is a story of a sports man who is a crossover Athlete. Someone who excels in Cricket...Someone who excels in Wrestling...Someone who excels in Para Olympics...PEDDI is story of a local player who becomes a National champion.
Sports isn't constrained to urban cities. There is a lot of talent in the rural areas. Sports development Authority has to tap in that and recognize the talents to bring India more Victories at a Global sports level. Director Buchi Babu Sana addresses.
When you watch the movie, you want PEDDI to win. That's the Success or Spirit of PEDDI.
As for as Performances are concerned, Ram Charan, Jagapati Babu, Shivaraj Kumar and Boman Irani excel in their performances.
A.R. Rahman's songs and Background score is a Big plus for Peddi.
Rathnavelu's cinematography is Impressive.
PEDDI's training scenes for Wrestling, PEDDI wrestles with two wrestlers, PEDDI's wrestling at the Nationals etc. Sports related scenes and stunt sequences have been made well.
Naveen Nooli's editing was Good.
Dialogues are written well.
Production values were Rich.
Minus:
1. Love Track between Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor is soul less.
2. Janhvi Kapoor has been utilised as a Glam doll. She has been shown in a sexy and glamorous way. She doesn't add value to the Film other than glamour. There was a sense of sexual objectification.
3. Movie runs for 189 minutes. Lengthy movie.
4. PEDDI has the cliches of Sports movies.
5. PEDDI is Inspiring. However, the Emotional elevation at the end could have been better.
6. PEDDI breaking his leg to join Para Olympics looks Cinematic and exaggerated.
Overall, PEDDI is an Inspiring Socio Sports movie!!!
