Velu(Kavin) is an Intelligent, skilled but a crooked private detective. He is an expert in spying but he is a bit crooked and money minded.
MLA Manivannan(Pawan Krishna) wants to become Chief Minister. He wants to win the election this time by standing alone without any alliances. He pumps 440 crores black money for the election. To distribute the money he ties up with Bhoomi(Andrea) who is a close associate of Manivannan.To the world Bhoomi runs charity. But in reality she runs a High profile Brothel. Bhoomi says that she will help Manivannan to distribute the money. But in return he has to clear all her crime records of the past. He has to get her a New passport with a New name where she will leave India and settle in abroad. Manivannan agrees to the deal. Across the state, there are many Supermarkets for Bhoomi. Logistically Money will be sent and distributed through those supermarkets.
Bhoomi sends 440 crores to a supermarket. Unexpectedly, a Gang of 8 men wearing M.R. Radha mask enter the supermarket and steal the money.
Velu(Kavin) is a divorced man. He has an affair with a married woman called Radhi(Ruhani Sharma). Radhi calls Velu to his Home. Velu goes to the supermarket to buy a condom. There a gang of 8 men involve in Money Heist operation. Velu escapes from the super market and goes to Radhi's home. Few minutes later, Radhi's husband(Achyuth Kumar) knocks the door. Velu hides inside and comes to know that Radhi's husband is one among the 8 men who was involved in the Money Heist operation at the supermarket. M.R. Radha mask and the Money in the bag reveals it. Knowing that Radhi has an affair, her husband shoots her out of anger. Radhi dies. Radhi's husband unexpectedly slips on the floor and dies. Velu takes the money and goes to his Home.
Bhoomi comes to know that 440 crores has been stolen. She can't go to Police. So She approaches Velu to know the whereabouts of money and the men who stole it. At a point of time Bhoomi threatens Velu and is behind him. why? Who are those 8 men? why did they steal the money? Did Velu figure out the heist gang? What happened to those 440 crores? That's Mask.
Mask addresses about Real Estate Rebuilding Frauds that affects middle class people.
Kavin, Andrea, Charle, Pawan Krishna and Venkat Senguttavan are key performers.
As an Intelligent and a crooked detective Kavin has performed well.
As a Villainess, Andrea has performed well.
Although a small role, Charle impresses with his performance as a middle class common man.
Pawan Krishna has performed well as Politician Manivannan
As Battery, Venkat Senguttuvan has performed well.
Songs aren't good. But background score is Good.
Voice over of Director Nelson for the narration was Good.
Although a small budget Film, Production values were Good.
Minus:
1. It is hard to believe that aged men involved themselves in the Money Heist operation. It wasn't Convincing.
2. Velu says that he is bad but not a scumbag. But his affair with Radhi makes him look like a scumbag.
Overall, Mask is an interesting spy & Heist movie which is Good but could have been much more better.
