DC Review
A Farmer sells his land for his son's education. His money is grabbed and he is murdered by a police officer. Das(Lokesh Kanagaraj) who belongs to Arasu's gang kills the police officer for it. Also, Government guns are abducted by Arasu's gang. What Follows is the Cat and Mouse Game between Das Gang and the Police Department. On his way, Das Frees a Prostitute called Chandra. Not just Chandra...He Frees many prostitutes who were held as hostages...Chandra experiences Freedom for the First time in her life...Chandra Falls in Love with Das...She joins Das gang...What happens in the cat and mouse game? What happens to Das, Chandra and his gang? That's DC.
DC raises many questions pertaining to System especially Police Department. Common man believes that Police Department stands for Justice. But if the Department is Corrupt, Unjust and Unfair where will the common man go? If Police Department is the Devil, who will be common man's God? DC raises many questions pertaining to System, especially Police Department.
Just think of it...A Carnatic fusion kind of track playing in the background for a blood soaked Action sequence where the music syncs with the scene well. One of the Career Best film of Anirudh. His Music is the Soul of DC!!! All the Music Tracks have been utilised well for Action sequences!!!
Lokesh Kanagaraj Rocks the show as Das. Impressive Debut as a Lead Actor!!!
A Woman who has been held as hostage as a prostitute for many years...Someone who experiences Freedom for the first time...Someone who kills the Doctor who removed her uterus...Someone who falls in Love with Das and stands with him...Wamiqa Gabbi has performed well as Chandra!!!
As an Antagonist, Krish Dayal has performed well as Bhojraj!!!
Thalaivasal vijay, Sharath Ravi, Avinash Raghudevan, Jawahar Sakthi, Pranav Teophine and Balaji Deviprasad have performed their roles well.
Sanjana Krishnamoorthy scores well in the small role which she gets!!!
Stunts and Action sequences were Raw and Realistic!!!
Cinematography of Mukesh G was Impressive!!!
Prasanna GK Editing was Good and Impressive. Editing connects the dots well!!!
Production design was impressive!!!
Arun Matheswaran is like Quentin Tarantino of Tamil Cinema...He has Portrayed Violence and Love Artistically... Good Direction by Arun Matheswaran!!!
Minus:
1. Why a Police officer like Arasu became a Gangster? Background story of Arasu and his gang is not addressed in the movie.
2. Not a movie that can be enjoyed with Family.
Overall, A Well made Gangsters vs Cop story!!!
